Russia has received a request for 1 billion doses of vaccine against coronavirus

On Tuesday, the conference dedicated to the first Russian vaccine against coronavirus “Satellite V”, the General Director of the Russian direct investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev said that the Fund has received requests for 1 billion doses of this vaccine. They came from 20 countries, in particular, negotiations are underway in Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.

According to Dmitriev, all the volumes of the vaccine, produced in Russia, will be used for the domestic market, for others, it will be made with foreign partners. “Together with foreign partners we are ready to ensure the production of more than 500 million doses of vaccine per year in five countries and we plan to increase our production capacity even more,” — said Dmitriev.

The vaccine developed by the National research centre of epidemiology and Microbiology named after honoured academician N. F. Gamalei (Nizam of them. N. F. Gamalei). In addition to NICAM to produce this medicine will also be included in AFK “System” pharmaceutical plant, Binnopharm.

Clinical trials “Satellite V” began in June 2020 in Sechenovskiy University and military hospital named after Burdenko in Moscow, each of them was attended by 38 volunteers. In the third phase of the trial, according to the health Ministry, will be attended by 2 million people.

As the head of the RDIF, the third phase of clinical studies of the Russian vaccine will also be held abroad. The Fund has reached agreements about this with the partners from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and several other countries.

The production of vaccine is funded by the RDIF together with its portfolio companies Alium and “R-Pharm”, as well as with strategic partners — international pharmaceutical companies (what is not specified), the volume of investments amounted to 4 billion virtually any.
