Peskov said that Russia will open the borders on the principle of reciprocity

Press Secretary of the President noted that specific decisions yet.

Russia will open its borders with other countries on the principle of reciprocity. As reported to journalists the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, these issues are discussed with foreign partners, but no concrete solutions yet.

“Of course, the opening of borders will be carried out on the basis of reciprocity, he stressed. — As you know, contacts are ongoing, but so far no action was taken”.

Peskov recalled that this issue is under the responsibility of the government of Russia and his staff to combat the spread of coronavirus.

Because of the situation with the spread of the coronavirus Russia from March 27 is completely closed to regular and Charter international flights, carriers may only perform flights to return passengers home. The Russian government also instructed from March 30 to temporarily restrict movement through road, rail, pedestrian and other checkpoints across the state border of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko in an open interview to the Deputy Director General of TASS Mikhail Gusman said that the question of a possible opening of the borders of Russia with the countries of the European Union is directly linked to the security of citizens. Grushko also spoke out against the the politicization of this problem.
