From the beginning of April in Moscow gathered more than a ton of plasma with antibodies to coronavirus to treat the new cases, said the Deputy mayor Anastasia Rakova. Her words are on the website of the Department of health of Moscow.

“And it is thanks to 1788 donors who gave blood after recovery,” — said Rakova. According to her, 215 ill Muscovites did it again.

Today, the doctors prescribed a transfusion of donor plasma over 760 patients, nearly 500 of which have already overcome the disease, said Rakova. According to her, the preliminary results showed that after plasma transfusion the chance to be on a ventilator in intensive care in moderate patients is reduced by 63%.

Chief freelance specialist transfusiologist of the Department of health of Moscow Andrey Bulanov noted that the method of plasma transfusion for the treatment of coronavirus proved its effectiveness. According to him, this method will apply a vaccine.

The use of plasma transfusions for the treatment of patients with coronavirus in Moscow began in April. For donors introduced incentive payments: for every 150 ml of plasma can be obtained for virtually any 250 1 600 ml — 5 thousand.

According to the latest data of the operational headquarters, in Moscow, recorded more than 231,8 thousand cases of infection with coronavirus, more than 168 thousand people have recovered. Died 4258 people.
