Sobyanin announced the availability of immunity to COVID-19 in 60% of Muscovites

More than half of the residents of Moscow have formed a collective immunity to coronavirus infection COVID-19, said the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin.

“In Moscow, and in new York created herd immunity in about 60% of the population”, — said Sobyanin (quoted by “RIA Novosti”).

Answering the question about the possibility of a second wave COVID-19 in autumn, Sobyanin expressed hope that the establishment by this time working vaccine and that the majority of Muscovites “will remain protected from coronavirus own immunity.” At the same time, the mayor acknowledged that the risk of a second wave is, and what is more, it is growing due to the fact that the caller COVID-19 the virus mutates, and the Muscovites acquired immunity “can, so to speak, to erode in October and November.”
