The Ministry of health approved the preservation of the old rules of physical examination of drivers by 2021

The Ministry of health of Russia approved the order of providing up to 1 January 2021 applicable rules of medical examination of drivers. At the same time wishing to obtain rights from 2021 are to be tested for chronic alcohol consumption only in the direction of the psychiatrist, if he will reveal the symptoms, told TASS on Friday in a press-service of the Ministry of health.

“The Ministry of health of the Russian Federation signed an order dated June 23, 2020 No. 624н, which retained the earlier system of medical examination of drivers of vehicles (candidates for the drivers of vehicles) until January 1, 2021″, — stated in the message. The press service specified that at the moment, the document passes the state registration procedure.

In July 2019 the Ministry of health suggested to enter into the compulsory medical examination of drivers and want to get the right tests for the presence of psychoactive substances and addiction to alcohol. The late introduction of this provision was delayed until July 1, 2020.

As explained in a press-service, additional consideration has shown that such demands can only be saved for individuals. In this regard, has prepared a draft decree, which “will reduce the cost of such research for the citizen”.

“This project order is in General supported by the expert community. During the public comment received a number of proposals that also deserve attention, study and consideration. In order to make the process of expert discussion, more detailed, and also to give time for the regions to fully ensure the readiness to conduct appropriate examinations, earlier order is maintained before January 1, 2021. In practice, for citizen adoption of this document the new order will mean that within the framework of the medical examination will act the old order, providing for the naturalization test for chronic alcohol consumption only those to whom the doctor-the psychiatrist will establish the presence of clinical signs of relevant diseases”,- stated in the message.
