Putin urged Russians to vote for amendments to the Constitution

Russian President Vladimir Putin urged Russians to vote for amendments to the Constitution, noting the importance of the votes of each.

Tomorrow, 1 July, the main day of voting. Please, dear friends, have your say. The voice of each of you is the most important, the most important”, — Putin said on Tuesday in an address to Russians.

The head of state reminded that voting is already underway in a few days. According to him, such a step is dictated by the requirement to protect people’s health. He thanked all who have already made their choice. Putin reminded about their position on the question of necessity of changing the basic law of the country.

It [the position] is clear, constant and rigid: the updated text of the Constitution, all proposed amendments will come into effect only with your approval, with your support”, — he said.

Putin added that the stability, security, prosperity and decent life for the people can only be achieved through development. “It’s our responsibility, our sincere feelings of patriotism, care of the Home rests the sovereignty of Russia, as well as on respect for their history, culture, native language, traditions, our memories about the achievements and accomplishments of our ancestors”, — said the Russian leader.

“For the country in which you want to live”

The President believes that, by voting for amendments to the Constitution, the Russians vote for the country where you want to live.

We vote not just for the amendment, couched in explicit legal norms. We vote for the country where you want to live, with a modern education and health care, with a reliable social protection of citizens, efficient government, accountable to the public,” — said the head of state. “We are voting for the country we work for and want to pass on to our children and grandchildren”, — said the President.

So I’m sure that each of you, taking such an important decision, he thinks first and foremost about their loved ones, is based on the values that unite us”, — Putin addressed citizens of the country.

He stressed that for residents of Russia uniting values,”is truth and justice, a respect for human labor, people of older generations, this family and care about children, about their health, moral and spiritual education”.

Amendments to the Basic law — in the case your support enshrine these values and principles as the ultimate, unconditional constitutional guarantees”, — said the head of state the Russians.
