Patriarch Kirill punished the priest who violated the decree on coronavirus

In Moscow punished the priest, who during Holy week and the Easter holiday has committed a violation of the order of worship. In accordance with the information on the website of the Moscow diocese, from the administration of the compound suspended Archpriest Vladimir Chuvikin.

As reported in the diocese, in Moscow on Good seimitsu and Easter worship services were held without the presence of the churches parishioners. Despite this, in the Church, father Vladimir at the Easter service was about 200 people. As a result, coronavirus infection has infected some of the clergy.

On the given fact the Moscow city diocese will investigate, so instead Archpriest Chuvikina at its appointed Archbishop Matthew Kopylov.

It should be noted that because of the pandemic coronavirus infection in the Russian Federation, the Russian Orthodox Church announced the introduction of certain restrictions on monasteries and religious buildings. Limitations spread for the Easter holiday to avoid the crowds and possible risks of infection with coronavirus. The congregation appealed to the Patriarch Kirill, who called on the faithful because of the difficult situation, not to visit temples.
