Coronavirus in Russia: business appealed to the government to support the economy

The largest organization of Russian entrepreneurs sent a letter to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, which called for recognition of businesses in all sectors of the economy affected by the pandemic coronavirus and to provide emergency state support.

Among the signatories to the letter of the Russian Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs (RSPP), Trading-industrial chamber (TPP) and the organisation “Business Russia” – reported by the newspaper “Vedomosti” on Tuesday.

The authors of the letter appreciate the need for urgent action, the state support of business, otherwise Russia will be mass bankruptcies of companies, rising unemployment and a significant reduction in tax revenues. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to recognize the victims of the coronavirus enterprises of all sectors of the economy.

 

Businessmen ask the government to consider subsidies for companies that had to stop work until April 30, in the amount of 2/3 of average wages. Companies that are still working, must be supported by stimulating demand through increased public procurement and reduce the tax burden.

 

The government should consider the possibility of exempting business from paying taxes and providing subsidies to cover the cost of rent, loans or lease – postulate business. They also ask for financial support and tax privileges for individual entrepreneurs with no employees.

 

Earlier, the government built the list of sectors most affected by the pandemic coronavirus. The list includes: airlines, airport services, road transport, leisure facilities, sports and medical services and sport in General.
