In 2020 the Cannes film festival, most likely in the traditional form will not be carried out. This information is according to the publication Variety, citing data obtained from the organizers.
Today is considered another format of the event. Perhaps there will be a list of strips, demonstration which was planned to hold this year in Cannes. Instead of showing films at this film festival, will hold a demonstration in the autumn, in the framework of film festivals in other cities. Tape this list will show at other film festivals until the spring of 2021.
“In the current situation to hold the event quite difficult, at least in the traditional format. It is for this reason we will restrict ourselves to the announcement of the list of films and it will happen in early June”, — said representatives of the festival.
During an interview with Variety, who heads the Cannes film festival Thierry Fremaux lamented the great problems that have arisen from the film industry due to coronavirus infection. “Now we have to fully restore it,” — said General Director of the festival.
