Austria has extended a ban on passenger flights from Russia until 31 July

The Austrian authorities extended the ban on passenger flights from Russia and some other countries. This reports the Wiener Zeitung citing the decision of the Minister of health Rudolf Unsober.

According to the decree, a ban on flights from Russia, Belarus, China, UK, Iran, Portugal, Sweden and the Ukraine to Austria, which was to end on 15 July, extended until the end of the month.

Moreover, we introduced a new ban on flights from all countries of the Western Balkans (Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and partially recognized Republic of Kosovo), Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Egypt.

At the same time, the Austrian authorities were allowed to accept flights from the Italian of Lombardy from the 16th of July.

Its decision to ban flights from “risk zones COVID-19” Vienna explained the desire to contain the pandemic coronavirus infection in the territory of their country.

Entry to Russia remains limited until at least August 1. The Federal service on 9 July suggested to resume flights to Hungary, Germany, great Britain, Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Finland, China, Vietnam, Mongolia and Sri Lanka. Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova announced that talks on lifting restrictions on international flights will begin July 15.

Russia is not included in the list of countries for which the EU opened its borders from July 1.

Previously, Finland has extended the restriction on crossing the border with Russia until August 11. Hungary also said that in the near future will not open the borders for Russians.
