The study of population immunity to the coronavirus in June, will hold in 22 regions of the Russian Federation

The first stage of the study of population immunity to the coronavirus, which conducts the CPS, will be held in June in 22 regions of Russia. This was reported on Friday the press-service of the Ministry.

“In the first phase in June 2020, the survey is planned in 22 constituent entities of all Federal districts of the Russian Federation with the participation of territorial bodies, organizations and scientific research institutions of Rospotrebnadzor, as well as bodies of Executive power of subjects of the Russian Federation in the sphere of health protection. In the study using random sampling is proposed to include children from one to 17 years inclusive, and adults in six age groups: 18-29 years, 30-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years, 70 years and over“, — stated in the message.

Research will be used ELISA test systems the State scientific center of applied Microbiology and biotechnology of Rospotrebnadzor. The data obtained will help to reveal the peculiarities of the epidemic process, to develop forecasts of the situation in the regions and the country as well as to plan for specific and nonspecific prevention of the virus.

“Serological monitoring to the study of population immunity to the new coronavirus in a pandemic COVID-19 is an essential element of epidemiological surveillance as epidemiological welfare of the population against this disease is determined by the status of population immunity“, — said the Agency.
