The number of cases of coronavirus in Moscow continues to grow

65 people with confirmed coronavirus infection has died in the last 24 hours, according to the Moscow radio “Echo of Moscow” on Thursday, referring to the Operational headquarters of the capital, fighting the pandemic. Thus, in the Russian capital were killed 611 people.

Oberstab did not specify the age of the deceased patients and did not explain whether they suffered from other diseases.

Total in Russia, according to Thursday 106498 confirmed coronavirus infections. Moscow accounts for more than half of these infections – 53739.

Coronavirus: a new hospital in Moscow shopping centers

The city authorities are considering conversion of several large commercial buildings into temporary hospitals coronavirus, according to the newspaper “Vedomosti” with reference to sources similar to the city hall. According to the magazine, the preparation is already underway in the Moscow trade and exhibition complex in the Lublin district and in one of the pavilions at the Russian exhibition centre.

In the Moscow region authorities have officially announced that they will open hospitals in Patriot Park, recreation area and exhibitions of the Ministry of defense of Russia, and also in one of the concert halls. In both institutions will be 1500 hospital beds.

Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Tuesday that the current requirements for isolation needs to be extended till may 11 in the capital and Moscow region. Residents can leave the house only when necessary (for example, shopping in the nearest store or pharmacy). When traveling around the city by car or public transport used a special pass (e-codes).
