The development of a vaccine against the new coronavirus is 8-10 months

The head of The Ministry of health of Michael Murashko said that the development of a vaccine from the Chinese coronavirus will take 8-10 months.

“The vaccine is being developed not less than 8-10 months, is only the initial stage without clinical trials,” Murashko said, noting that the process is conducted.

Earlier, on 4 February, Deputy Minister of health of the Russian Federation Sergey Kraevoy said that “to create the vaccine itself, having certain biotechnological platform, it is simple […] need just a few months — from two to five”.

The official added that it is more challenging to test a vaccine by testing on the cells, small and large animals and clinical studies.
