Mishustin has removed restrictions on entry to Russia for foreign specialists

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order that allowed entry to Russia “highly skilled foreign professionals” who have permission to work in the country. Relevant document published on the government website.

“Requested by business associations, business and the management of diplomatic missions. Foreign experts are allowed a single entry to Russia on the basis of a specific list”, — stated in the message.

Such a list, as noted in the Cabinet will be prepared by the FSB and the interior Ministry on the basis of data of Federal bodies of Executive power in charge of the employer or the customer of the services of a foreign specialist.

A mandatory condition for entry would be an indication of the checkpoint through which the specialist intends to get into Russia, as well as the arrival date. A foreign worker in addition to a passport will need to have a valid employment contract or a contract on performance of works/rendering of services.

Mikhail Mishustin signed an order restricting the entry of foreigners on the territory of Russia in the framework of the fight against the spread of coronavirus COVID-19, in mid-March. The regulation was in force until April 30, however, the day before the expiration of the ban, the Prime Minister decided to extend it indefinitely.

On 8 June, the head of the government has partially lifted restrictions on entry to Russia for foreign citizens. Mishustin allowed them to come for medical treatment in the Russian health care organizations or to care for sick relatives.
