President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during the presentation of state awards highlighted the work of the medics, frontline combat coronavirus, and announced the victory over COVID-19. About it BelTA reports.
In his opinion, Belarusians demonstrated political sanity and the wisdom of the people during a pandemic.
“At best, due to coronavirus infection was the doctors. Our health care system survived. But we do not reduce the degree of struggle, although today we can say we’ve won. And after the final victory over СОVID-19 be sure to individually meet with our doctors today still on duty”, — said the President.
May 25, Lukashenko, noting the improvement of the epidemiological situation in Belarus, predicted a quick victory over coronavirus “with God’s help”.
The country had imposed strict quarantine restrictions for economic reasons. Lukashenko has repeatedly said that the panic over the pandemic — is nothing more than psychosis, advising Belarusians to be treated with vodka, bath and work on the tractor. He has repeatedly criticized Russia for restrictions and called them the absolute stupidity and bungling.
Since the beginning of the pandemic coronavirus infection was confirmed in 62 424 inhabitants of Belarus. Died 398 patients recovered — 47 553 people.
