Fresh reports on coronavirus in Russia: in Moscow, recovered more than sick

The number of deaths from the coronavirus exceeded 3,000 on Thursday in Russia and currently stands at 3099. In the last 24 hours died, 127 patients. Wednesday it was 8849 new cases of coronavirus infection, and now the number of infections is 317 554.

In turn, in the last 24 hours recovered 7289 people, which increases the ratio of cured patients to 92 681.

In Moscow the second day in a row, the number of people discharged from hospitals – 3746 – higher than the number of new infections detected at 2913 people. Overall, since the beginning of the pandemic in the Russian capital coronavirus infection was diagnosed in 155 of 219 people, of whom 40 682 already recovered, while the 1794 patients have died in Moscow since the beginning of the pandemic.

Mayor Sergei Sobyanin warned on Wednesday evening that the death rate from Covid-19 in may will be much higher in Moscow than in April, because now there are more severe cases. The capital is still at a high stage of the epidemic, – said Sobyanin.

However, the mortality rate in Russia is lower than in countries also affected by the epidemic. Western media speculated that the official mortality rate is low, but the Russian side denies this.

Meanwhile, in the upper house of the Russian Parliament, the Federation Council, it was proposed to exclude from the contracti foreign goods for items which have become a necessary and scarce in a pandemic. MP Konstantin Kosachev stated that the provisions on combating include medical masks, protective clothing and other necessities.
