Discovered effective antibodies against the coronavirus

Scientists from Columbia University in new York has created a mixture of antibodies that can help neutralize the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

The research group found that I had been ill with the heavy form COVID-19 patients rapidly produced antibodies are able to suppress the virus. According to one of the authors of the works of David Ho, the immune system of these patients had a stronger reaction to infection.

Scientists have identified different types of such neutralizing antibodies, a mixture which protects the body from coronavirus, and it can also help to more effectively treat COVID-19.

The team conducted an experiment on hamsters, which confirmed the protective properties of the selected antibodies. Scientists plan to conduct similar studies on other animals and on humans.

According to Ho, the resulting “cocktail” can be used by pharmacists for the treatment of patients, especially in the early stages of the disease and its prevention.
